However, his life changed when his parents enrolled him at the Athlone School for the Blind in Cape Town. Reflecting on his journey, Mlangeni shared, *"I got a better life when my parents took me to Athlone School for the Blind. That is where I found people who were exactly like me. That's where I found love."*  


The celebration was not just a birthday party but a tribute to his enduring legacy. Respected choreographer Nomsa Manaka expressed gratitude to those who continue to honor Mlangeni while he is still alive, saying, *"We thank you, Baba Msimango, for not waiting for Baba Babsy Mlangeni to leave this earth and have a big funeral where people push each other to be on the programme."*
